Panther Chameleon Enclosure Size

Ok, so after many years of research on chameleons, and owning a pygmy leaf chameleon, I am getting ready to take a plunge into panthers. I am planning on purchasing a kit from Chroma Chameleons at the canadian Breeders expo in September, then after I get all the temps right and what not, purchasing my little guy, I am just wondering what kit to get. The one with an 18 by 18 by 36, or the 16 by 16 by 30?
I am planning on getting a hatchling, mainly because I want to watch it grow up. So, advice on what size cage to get?
Thanks.

Are you planning to get a Male or Female?

If Female, I'd probably get the 18x18x36 cage as she'd be pretty comfortable in that cage for her life.
If Male, you'll need to upgrade to a 2x2x4 cage eventually, but in saying that I'd still go with the 18x18x36(ya I coulda just say get that at the start, w/e :p). As at least that cage could be useful for future projects.

I would suggest against getting a "hatchling"(what age are you thinking anyway?) not to doubt you're abilities to keep one, but watching one grow from 1-2 months instead of 3+months and already well started isn't going to be drastic difference.

Anyway JMO.

Sorry, yea forgot to mention I will be getting a male, and sorry, I am a ball python and crested and leopard gecko kinda guy, by hatchling, I meant right around the three month mark.

THAT'S why your name is familiar.
I see you on RepCanada all the time :)

Yes, I know it will outgrow it, just wanted to check to see what cage will benifit me now, and in the future, and as for parents, don't know yet, probably will not have this chameleon for a couple of months.
