over supplementing?

I just recieved my baby ambanja a week ago and today I noticed some white powder coming from both her nose and it looked like her eyes...I have heard this is oversupplementing but I just wanted to make sure. Should I stop supplementing all together for a week or so or should i hold off on the Miner-All. I am using the same supplementing schedule that kammerflage uses since that is where I got her from. i thought I was just lightly dusting the crix and flies but would it be because i have been supplementing all of them rather than just a few.

Any input would be great!

You probably don't need to supplement all of the feeders. Especially if you are gut loading them with good greens. Also make sure it is just a tiny pinch of dust that goes on the feeders.

Ya I agree, if they are gutloaded, only maybe 1/2 of them powered, or even 2/5. Too much can be bad, but too little can be bad also. How much exactly are you supplementing? Having it for a week and already over supplementing sounds unusual.

I put maybe 1 1/2 to 2 pinches everyday of either herptivite, calcium, or miner-all but I have been putting it on all 20 or so crickets/flies each day. so should i stop totally for a couple of days and then start again without supplementing all of them?

How much is a pinch? Also, that is way too much supplements. Only 2 times a month for each of the supplements. I would take a break for about a week.

This is the schedule that Kammerflage Kreations told me to go by with supplementing:

Herptivite (multivitamin with beta-carotene) - Mondays and Thursdays
Rep-Cal Calcium (calcium with and w/out vitamin D3 - depending on indoor or outdoor use) - Tuesdays and Fridays
Miner-All (calcium with essential trace minerals) - Wednesdays and Saturdays

Our adult males are supplemented with vitamins and calcium one time each per week

Should I stop using them that much even with my 12 week old baby or should I cut back on the amount of crickets I dust?

Supplementing is very subjective. Check out some of the related posts at the very bottom of the thread. Each chameleon has different needs. I got my first few from the Kammers and used their supplement schedule. I have eight now ranging from 5 months to 1 1/2 years old. 6 have never shown any issues, but 1 (female veiled) started getting the nose crusties and I had to cut her back. 1 (female panther) got gular edema, so I had to adjust her supplements as well. All with the same husbandry techniques and schedules.

The hard thing is too much AND too little is bad. If yours is getting nose crusties, cut back until they go away and maybe cut back on the vitamins when you resume. As they get older, they don't need as much either. Likewise if they get a good amount of natural sunlight often.

just cut back on your "Pinching" amount.
i used kammers schedule and never had any problem either.
when dusting, your crickets should not change color significantly.
are your crix turn to white after dusting?
that means you're giving too much supplement
