over feeding & color

I’m worried I might be feeding him too little but he eats all of his crickets every feeding. I feed him 7-10 sometimes 13 crickets morning and night. Sometimes he looks super skinning and sometimes he has a little belly 🥺😂.

And his colors... Is this brown normal for all times? I leave the cage open when i get home from work and let him roam or crawl onto my hand but maybe being in sunlight was not his favorite?

Hi. So with chameleons we can’t go by the usual appearances to determine if too skinny or too fat. For veileds we look primarily at the cheeks and casque. Neither should be bulging out. It’s normal and ok if ribs are visible at times. Your guy looks ok to my eyes. However, I would advise to cut out the night feeding. Besides it being too much food for him, it’s best to feed early in the day so that they have time to bask and digest their food properly. Yes, he will always be looking like he wants more food. I swear my veileds intentionally are always hanging around their feeder to make me feel guilty for not setting out the all you can eat buffet.
