Over eating?

Hallo out there

Can a vailed chameleon over eat?

She is about 5 month old. And she is started to eat alot. Today she took 12 crickets, 1 big grasshopper and about 7-10 mealworms.

So can I over feed her or Will she stop eating When she is full?

My girl was always a hefty eater when she was younger. But that sounds like a lot to me. I read that mealworms aren't good to give often, only as a treat, because they are high in fat?

If you post some pictures of her so that we have a visual aid as well. They also tend to eat more when gravid, although mine seems to do the complete opposite. She is nearing her lay time so I would assume its perfectly normal for her to slow down on the eating.

Anyway, pics would help and there's the possibility of her being gravid (if you mated her). But she will develop eggs regardless of mating.

I'd feel more comfortable if the more exp members would chime in on me. Everyday is a learning experience! :)

Well, once females reach a certain age or sexual maturity, it's best to limit their food to try and prevent egg laying as it will shorten their lives. Can you post a picture of her? Usually, around 6-8 months old their food is recommended to be limited to 5-7 crickets or the equivalent every other day, however some females need to have this done sooner (or later) than others.

Hi just to clarify- I have a eight month old panther female who has laid once and appears to be getting larger again. Should I reduce to 5-7 medium crickets a day? I new you had to reduce, I just thought that would be after they were full grown. Is there any reading material on this subject available on the forum?
