Outdoors in central FL

Curious to anyone finding a certain species that might work better for keeping outdoors as much as possible in the FL weather.

I imagine the montanes to be the worst, or at least for the cooler ones like quadricornis. Most of the time its too hot, even here in the tampa area.

I would focus on veiled and panther chameleons. Panthers love Florida weather! I kept panthers in an outdoor enclosure for 3 out of 4 seasons in North Florida. South Florida you could do year round.

When I lived in Tampa I could keep Veileds and verrucosus outdoors for a majority of the year, the occasional cold snaps we got, I would bring them inside. Oustalets and panthers would do well outdoors as well.

thanks, I really like the unusual species such as the quadricornis, I had one for a quite a while but he died very suddenly last year, I believe he was getting old. Rarely I would let him hang on the ficus outside but only for short periods when the weather was right. I always liked the idea of having one I could keep outside, and started thinking about having a chameleon again soon.

again, thanks for the suggestions, I very well may go well a Panther then for my next. Or not worry about the outdoors thing and find another montane species, the pygmies have always fascinated me too!

If I kept Verrucosus again, I probably would keep them outdoors as well. A few things you can keep outside.
