Outdoor Setup

I actually made this 2 weeks ago when I had the day off on a Monday. It took me about 2 hours, most of that was spent putting on zip-tie's. I spent $8.99 on the plastic mesh, $7 on zip-ties, and the PVC corners and "T" connections were $.33 each. The PVC pipes I already had from work. So grand total was like $25 after tax. I still need to come up with a more accessable door, I made the frame going off of sizes of mesh provided by Home Depots' online site, but of course when I got to the store they didn't have any 48" stuff, only 36". Oh well, my cham really digs it and doors are something that can wait for now.

really cool! You can come over to my house anytime and build me one. All the iced tea you can drink! LOL

Sometimes I feel bad bringing him back inside. He just gets up on his basking branch and stares out the window without moving. He cheers up after I give him something to eat though.

Simple... Cheap... Effective... And you can't beat the light source!

Nice! Normally whenever people think DIY, they decide to try to get crafty and make everything more difficult than it needs to be. The bare basics will never steer you wrong.

You should buy a patio mister kit and hose timer for like 40 bucks and setup a mister out there for him to enjoy. I would imagine even in the Florida heat, enough concentrated heavy misting could keep the temps ideal among the plants.

nice set up...how big is the mesh size

OPI

The mesh is 1 inch. I know it seems small but with his 1 1/4" cask plus his big ol' head, he ain't getting out. I've watched him through a window thats just to the left of the enclosure and he has tried to escape but so far its cham proof.

I so thought about that but I just haven't done it yet! And yeah the temps in the enclosure have been spot on the past few days granted only between say 10am and 3pm. Lots of trees around the yard.

Yes, great work! Cant beat cheap and easy. Pvc is so much easier than wood. I have been making custom wood cages and well the last 2 arent that bad hahaha. Now pvc that is my deal. I do plumbing/irrigation not so much carpentry.
