Outdoor screened cage questions

Hi everyone. I bought a screened cage to use outside in the summer. I have got lots of sticks/branches (cleaned and dried well) and some flower vines to provide some shade. Unfortunately, they are silk. I can't find plastic anywhere. So the silk ones are temporary and I'll toss them when they get dirty. Fortunately they only cost $1.69 so I got a couple! Love sales. :D I have never had an outside cage so wondering what I need for it. I made a dripper out of an old milk jug which worked great. Them temps outside here (East Tennessee) are between 80-95 degrees pretty steadily during the day. I won't leave him out at night. His cage is set up on our porch so there is a roof above. Most of the day the porch is not in the direct sun light but it does get some in the morning and a lot on the late afternoon. Does he need to have direct sun light for the UV or will he get enough just being outside? Do I need a heat source out there too or do you think it's warm enough? Anything else? Oh, it's been quite humid here too. Around 60-90% lately. I took him out there a couple days ago and he seem nervouse for the first half hour then explored some. Once the sun hit the porch he sat in the dirct sun light for a while. He was near the bottom half of the cage and I got concerened he would over heat so I brought him inside because the entire porch is in the direct sun light at this time and I didn't think there was enough shade for him. I might be worrying too much but as some of you may know, George was very sick for the first couple weeks I had him. He's doing so well and I want to make sure the outside cage is set up correctly. Any ideas and help would be welcome! Thanks!

Outdoor cage with indirect light will still give him plenty of UV, so no need for a UV light or a basking lamp. I like to position my cage for direct sunshine in the morning and shade in the afternoon. I do worry about overheating. I always run a dripper when my cham is out, and when it gets over 80, I turn on the outdoor mister (a MistyMate patio mister that hooks to the hose). The mister drops the ambient temperature by about 5-10 degrees, it's really nice. At about 90, I usually bring him back in. He might be fine, but I worry too much. I have a big tree in his outdoor cage which provides plenty of shade or sun, and he really enjoys the climbing.

Thanks for the reply! I will look into the mister which is a great idea. I've only had him out once so far. We've had storms on and off since. I will move his cage closer to the house so he's not in the direct sun light. I too worry about him overheating. I have a Benjamin Ficus Tree (I think that's the name of it. I know its one that is on the Ok list of plants) but it's too big for the cage. About a foot too tall! I have to see if I can find a smaller one or one of the other plants that I can leave outside. I can't have them inside because they keep getting those little gnat type bugs! No matter what I do they get in the indoor plants. Frustrating! I want plastic but can't find them in local stores so I'll probably have to order them off line if I can find some. I don't think I could ever leave him out at night or even all day unless I am not there to watch him. I have seen farrel cats in our yard over the winter. Haven't seen them this summer but I would be afraid something would rip the screen and get him. Thank you for the reply and information. I appreciate it!

Silk leaved fakes are actually pretty durable so you will get quite a bit of use out of them. Easy to wash when needed too, even in hot water/bleach solutions.

Thanks Carlton! I appreciate your comments and will wash them in the bleach and hot water solution when needed.
