What's up, just got a juvenile panther that is thriving outdoors right now but Im a little worried about the temp. I can only keep him outside right now and move him into the garage in the winter with sufficient lighting. The temps where I live are anywhere from 85 to 90 during the day with a drop at night to 74ish. The humidity stays between 70 and 80. I water him at least 5 times a day with Reptisafe (which I also wanted to know if safe/necessary) and have a dripper running throughout the day. I understand the heat may be a little much but if he's in a 18x18x36 with sufficient shading do you guys not think he will be alright? He eats and drinks like a champ and is currently shedding and looking fantastic. I've already got some professional opinions and I just wanted a few more. Thanks

Well when you say juvenile, how old is he. Your temps sound fine unless he is very very young/small. 85 degrees in a well shaded area is perfect for them.

Reptisafe is necessary if you don't have a filter on your water. It removes the chlorine, which can irritate their eyes/skin. A decent RO filter or one that removes chlorine and heavy metals is even better, and cheaper in the long run.

He is between 5 and 6 months and probably only gets about 1 hour of direct sunlight every day. His cage is under a gigantic spanish oak tree so its hard for the sun to shine through. He seems to enjoy it.

Panthers should not get over 85 even as adults. At his age the lower 80's would be better.

Any other opinons? He seems to be doing great. Check out hunter at flchams.com. Its my lil guys father. The temps today didnt get above 88 and I misted him at least 5 times for 2 min with a dripper running the whole time. He has a giant ficus benjamen in a 18x18x36. I also have two pothos on top of the ficus pot and tuns of repto vine spiraling up the cage and throughout the ficus. Ill have pics tommorow.
