Out of food!!!! What do i do?!?!

Well today I was about to feed my chams and I seen that I was out of food! D: I am absolutely scared right now! I am not able to get any from the petstore since there isn't any food for chams there and she wont get any in until next week and the nearest petstore to me is an hour and a half away.. my parents wont take me there just to get food and I am not able to order onine!? HELP! What should I do to keep them alive?! I don't want them to starve to death!

try live capture

see what you can catch. There are guides in the forums for what wild caught food is safe. For the future keep a can-o-grasshoppers (available many places on line) around. My cham can be tricked into eating them if I run out and the pet store is out.

Some chams take earthworms (if clean). Maybe you can get some. I am not sure they are good, but I have heard of them taking them.

House flies are an option if you can catch some.

Do you live in a pesticide free area??? If so turn your porch light on tonight and catch some wild bugs for him....at least it's something for the mean time till you get some food. Just an idea????

I would but it is heavily sprayed with pesticides! I am litteraly freaking out right now I am scared for them I love them both even though I haven't had them long!

i live in a trailor home so if i dig up the land i get in trouble... :/ and next time i do get to the petstore i wil get the canned food! I just don't know what to do!!!! D: I have tried the house fly thing but it never works for me theres like none here i litterally probably seen like 8 flys this year!

First off a few days of not eating isn't going to cause any harm to an adult chameleon.

Second, Relax

Third, you need to find an area to colect some wild bugs and thats that. There are plenty out there. If you have to dig then you have to dig , just put back the mess you make.

yes there is a pets plus here but they aren't very good with cham food! I will go back later and try again... they have mealies but i dislike how much chitin they have... I will look online maybe i can convince my mom for some help!

Surely you have moths around your porch light at night. Those are good feeders. How many chams do you have and how old are they?

yes there is a pets plus here but they aren't very good with cham food! I will go back later and try again... they have mealies but i dislike how much chitin they have... I will look online maybe i can convince my mom for some help!

If you have to feed mealworms then do it. They are not the best but are not bad.

yeah i checked the petstore and they have mealies, crix that are too big and supers and mine haate them!

how come you didnt buy some when you knew you had a low stock of whatever it is that you are feeding???? usually i buy 200 crickets and 50 superworms and i go buy crickets every week and supers every other week. I dont like risking it, i rather have extra than run out..

that would be mean! and she has outrageous prices on mealies! 10 bucks for 100 mealies that are half dead! I might have a few beetles from my old colony left i will check...

I agree but things happen. What kills me is the parents don't give a crap and would rather harm come to the animal.
