Out for delivery!

whats the earliest ups would possibly bring you a package in the morning?

My chams tracking said out for delivery at 6:06 but i didnt think it would be here before like 9

i should mention im someone who stays up till ...way early and sleeps till.. like way late (usually) so i basically flipped my schedule for this. hahah.

anyways it would be nice to know if its even possible for it to show up before 9 so i can stop staring out the window. :)
 
Idk k ow about ups but when I received my Cham a few weeks ago I got him at like 1030 . You most likely won't get him until about 10 because overnight shipping take usually 20 hrs or so. Where did you order your knew Cham from? Also what kind did you chose to get? And good luck with your knew addition!
 
Yeah, UPS overnight typically delivers between 9:30 and 10:30. I know you're super anxious! Are you going to make an unboxing video? :)

new (and first) cham is from chamalot chameleons - hes a like.. 3.5 month old ambilobe panther. his sire is circle side (pretty awesome looking!)

and - i am going to TRY and make an unboxing video. all i have is a flip but yes, i do intend to record the unboxing i just dont know if itll turn out good enough to see anything. haha. there arent nearly enough cham unboxings and no unboxings from chamalaot so i have to do my duty and document this epic occasion!

What time does the UPS normally come to your house or neighborhood? For future reference I'd recommend picking up your cham at your local UPS Hub so he doesn't have to ride on the truck for delivery. You can pick up at the Hub as soon as they open which is usually 8 am. All you have to do is have the send mark the box hold for pick up. It gets your cham out of the box much faster and in the summer time it gets hot in those trucks.
 
My UPS guy usually gets here between 9-10 and I live next door to UPS.
Oh and heartben I'm going to bed as soon as I finish writing this. So I guess we're both owls.
 
I was given the option to do that but I don't have a car. Next time I will probably plan it out a little better.

I've only had overnight one time but it was from fedex and they ended up holding it even though I didn't ask them to (which was.. obviously a surprise.. )

so, all i know for sure is itll be here by 10:30.
 
I GOT IT! at like 9:08 or something.

he was pretty pale but he wasnt hot or anything. im guessing the paleness was stress..or maybe he was relaxed? i guess im not sure what means what quite yet.

he was in a bag (since its been so hot) which made it really like nerve wracking for me to open because i felt like he was going to jump out at me or something.

he kind of did in a way, he didnt jump out but as soon as he saw my fingers he pretty much climbed right on and up my arm which was one of the scariest odd feeling things ever. (keep in mind, never held a cham or almost any other lizard type reptile - and only seen baby chams behind glass)

im still situating his stuff so for now i have a plant in a plastic tote with a basking light set up and he s just chilling there like a boss. there are some crickets in there too if he really wants to eat. i know i shouldve had everything perfect before he got here, but life isnt perfect ya know..

he looks pretty awesome from what i can tell, i can see greens, blues and a little hint of a reddish color (idk if itll be red or orange or what) all i know is he is going to be a REALLY good looking cham. he isnt crazy bright or anything but in person you can definitely tell he has some color. hard to get on pics/vid.

also he is pretty big, im really happy with his size. he isnt teeny tiny and he looks fairly beefy for how small he is. id say his body is around 3.5 inches excluding his tail. now i have to think of an epic name for him.

so at this point i would say anyone debating ordering from chamalot chameleons - go for it, if you can afford it (which you should because their prices are very reasonable) you won't regret it!

so i misted him and he is getting his color back, looking better. hes been catching crickets here and there. seems pretty content for now.

so here are some crappy cell pics, colors arent quite as nice but what are you going to do - ill link to the unboxing video after i get it edited and up (if its decent ish - never really done an unboxing quite like this so it might suck)

here he is curling up his tail. the colors are wayyyyy off obviously but i think the tail curling is cute - can anyone tell me if the tail curling means anything (be it comfortable, scared, mad..hungry.. whatever) or is it just like.. i dont need my tail right now..?

uhmm.. yeah. its been awhile between the earlier text in this post (and taking the pics) and now so i can't remember what i said but i think thats all for now.
 
his colors arent showing very good in the pics but he DEFINITELY has some minty green on the face and some cyan on his sides. ive seen some reddish/purpleish spots.. he is going to be amazing, thats all i can say. btw - he is the cham in my avatar so you can kind of see a tiny bit of color.

He looks great....Mine was supposed to be here by 12 from Fed ex and it still isnt here :( :( Im getting really worried. I hope the little guy is ok.
 
he looks good congrats on his safe arrival, the reason he was so pale is hes been in the dark sense yesterday so he was sleepin..
 
hey marco - does your tracking say on truck for delivery? if not you should call... wonder if they are holding it for pick up or something on accident? its happened to be before.

he is looking better and better throughout the day. everyone in my house seems to love him already (no one has picked him up or anything do dont worry)
 
the tracking says "in transit", Memphis Tennessee and it has said Memphis Tennessee all day. So Im wondering if there was a problem with a plane or something. Hopefully everything will be ok and he will arrive good and healthy still. It also doesnt help that today the heat index is 110 degrees.
 
Curling up the tail is just what Chameleons do.

I did snap some pics of him right before I shipped him and the colors showed up pretty well.... i can send them for you if you'd like when I get home .
