Thank you for finding and posting links to all these interesting studies. While I had a pretty good idea what a "hyobanchial skeleton" was, I did a Google search for a diagram, which of course, led to other interesting articles.

This diagram was the most fascinating, showing the retractor muscles originating in the pelvis (of a salamander).

I like looking for new information and posting for others to see to....my biggest problem with it is that I can easily post things someone (or I) posted earlier...memory issues from old age?

I'm recovering from having both knees replaced....exercising...physio...and in between I do this for now.
