Our new outdoor cage for $30

Hello everyone! I have been wanting to make an outdoor cage for some time now, and my schedule finally opened up a bit to get it done today.

I have zero handyman skills, so I needed something easy to make! I went with the PVC design, as I only had to make a few cuts and push the pipies into the connectors. I got everyting at lowes for under $30 and have enough screen leftover to make another one. We have 2 pairs of Panthers so I need to make three more of these some time :)

I wrapped the screen around twice to make the holes a bit smaller so the females dont try to stick their heads thru. It was much easier than I thought!!

That is Jags" the naked ninja " guarding the new cage.

Cool. Does it have a door on it? I've actually wanted to do the same since I have a ton of pvc lying around.

There is actually a "door" on top. It's 4' tall and I am 6'3" so I can open it and reach inside pretty deep.

Jags is a Sphynx, we have two of them, and they both love to be outside during the summer!!!!

I do have a question, I noticed some bees in the backyard, any problems if the chams eat them???

Yea there is a problem with bees unfortunately because they carry AWESOME nutrients /: the stingers can move on their own (if you've ever been stung you'd see it moving even after the bee leaves) and if they bite the stinger it can cause problems...

EDIT: If you can catch some, put them in the freezer until you see them not moving, they will move into hibernation and you can QUICKLY remove the stinger and then let your cham at 'em... They love the colors so I've heard and like I said, they carry GREAT nutrition from what I've been told... Haven't been able to catch any of my own yet though /:

I know someone who's chameleon lost there tongue from a bee sting. and fireflies (if you have in your area) are highly toxic and can kill your chameleon. Personally I am going with screen for that reason :(

I had not thought of fireflies!!! We live in Missouri and have a ton of them early in the spring.....I havent seen many the last few weeks tho....I might have to look into changing the scren out :(
