Ouch! That Hurt!

I'm sure this has happened to others here because we do "good faith" business with breeders and hobbyist; it really hurts when someone doesn't show good faith in return. Perhaps in retrospect, the person didn't know what the word "Deal" implies...

I'd sent a pm to arrange to put money down on a cham with the balance to be paid in full on Monday the 7th. That was sometime around 8AM yesterday before leaving for work. When I arrived home, I hadn't received a message from the seller so we put on a film and went to bed.

When I got up this morning the person sent 3 pms. The first at 10:07 pm (last night) saying "DEAL" and then gave us the PayPal addy.

There's another pm sent at 10:22 "Are you going to buy him"

Then the final pm sent at 10:52 "Forget the deal he's sold."

The messages went from "Deal" to "Sold to another party" in less than one hour while I slept.

If I say deal, that's it. I stick to it. :(

Thanks for the rant, guys,
D.

You know it bites, but think of it this way it if will help. It wasn't meant to be. If the guy was that impatient and that rude, then you don't want to deal with people like that. There will be another opporunity no matter how 'rare' something is. It it hard to let it go, but in the end it is the best thing that can happen too. Hang in there and move on.

Great and gentle words. Thank you Aja! :)

I couldn't agree more. Usually when someone operates like that they are terribly young and anxious. I hate to stereo type any one. But in this case, I've seen this all too often. In the end I'd say you guys got off lucky. Least you hadn't sent any $ yet.

Very frustrating and dissapointing, but thats dealing via the internet for you.
I have experienced the reverse before today too, same feeling.
Worse when you have taken so much time and gone out of your way to accomodate a buyer, and have agreed to meet for the sale and you go off to meet them and they dont show! Respect/professionalism goes both ways.
Sorry you got shafted. :(
