It's getting hotter now and the ants are starting to invade my chams feeders. Even though I still can't find my cham, I want to keep my dubia colony alive. I occasionally have the reverse problem of an ant invasion . Once in a while I will have a grain mite bloom from my superworm container. Overnight I could have a billion tiny white dots moving out of the container, spreading into other feeder containers and onto every surface within their reach. Talk about a mess to clean up . A couple of years ago I started setting the superworm container in a shallow pan containing a 1/2" of water with a few drops of soap added to break the surface tension. If and when I get a grain mite bloom, they pour out of the bedding and drown in the soapy water. The water will literally turn brown with zillions of micro-dot sized mite bodies .
