Between work and life its been quite a while since I have been able to spend time on the forums, so I made sure to save a little time today to take pictures and post an update thread.
First, the orchid experiment is officially a success, except for a hungry snail that munched on one of the leaves. The bloom picture below was from a new shoot that started growing about a month ago, right after a large new leaf. This is a phaelenopsis orchid and I basically have a mistking nozzle pointed directly at it. I also mist it in the morning, that's all.
The orchid is in Moe's cage. He is a 2.5 year old Nosy Be. He seems to really like sitting next to the flowers.
Malcolm got a shower this morning. He will not poop unless he gets some sun or a warm shower. I consider this etiquette quite gentlemanly, although it is a pain for me. He is an ambilobe, about a 1 year and 8 months. I have had him since he was 3 months.
Samuel L Jackson (we call him Sammy) is a little jackson adopted from Little Leaf's Olive. He is the cutest little guy, but definitely camera shy. Belying his small stature is his huge appetite.
The shyest of them all is my nosy be female, Nelly. Like Sammy, I have to lure her out of her thick foliage with crickets to get a decent shot.
Here is where they all live, and my wintertime jungle escape room!
