every time i oppen my veiled chams cage she gets scared and hides and changes to dark collors idk what to do! and is it ok to give her cellery leavs?

Because chameleons have a lot of specific husbandry requirements, please fill this out so we can get an idea of your set up. But, most chameleons hide when opening the cage, but if taken out relax some. What you can try doing is putting a plant/branch of some sort right outside of her cage, and see if she ventures on to that. Then offer your hand. Also, you can try to hand feed her so she associate you and your scary hand with food, not trying to eat them. Hope that helps some.

oh ok, just wondering. How long have you had your chameleon? they take time to get adjusted to their new surroundings and you especially. Fill out the ask for help form. If you got her from a pet store, you may have been given the wrong info on lighting, supplements, etc. We want to make sure you are doing everything right!

we need you to fill out the first part as well, about what type of chameleon and feeders/dusting etc.

though, for a baby, 90 is too much, you should lower that to ~85 degrees, and need at least a 10* gradient from basking to bottom of the cage. Fill out the rest please so we can get the full picture. Pictures help a lot too if you can post some.

Carol and Cantgetagoodsn are really super nice and will really help.
don't get frustrated, ok?
If you need to pm someone with a question, its really ok!
Im proud of you for doing your homework

You should feed your cham more than just 6 crickets at such a young age. You need to get your supplement ASAP because, just as with human babies, you need to give your cham the foundations for it to grow healthy. Otherwise, you'll have problems which can be very costly.

Your basking spot is WAY too high for such a young cham. bring it down to 80-85. Temps should go down to about 75 so she can thermoregulate. Mist more often (at least 3 times a day). Hopefully you dont have a substrate cause if its a kit, the usually bring it and it shouldnt be used.

most use reptical and reptivite. Make sure you get Calcium WITHOUT D3, Calcium WITH D3, and reptivite. Total of 3 supplements.

Use the Calcium W/O D3 every feeding
Calcium W/ D3 twice a month
Reptivite twice a month

ok i fixxed the temp and im gettint the calcium w/o d3 and im suppose to put that on the crickets every time i feed her and how many crickets should i be giving her? and im also going to get the calcium with d3 and im suppose to use that once a month from what i have read on several sites
