Opened and egg too soon?!?

On the 21st this baby had it's head out(photo#1), Yesterday there was no progress by morning, and by the afternoon it had gone back into the egg.

Today it was still inside the egg. I assumed it to be dead, figuring that it was breathing oxygen and then suffocated by going back into the egg.

I got the baby out of the egg just now(photo#2, and it's eyes are moving(but not open) and it's alive.

What are the chances that it will be ok? What should I do for it? Any ideas?

Right now i draped a moist paper towel over him (hovering above him, not touching him)

It still has some yolk sack to absorb. I would think that if it was not hurt by you taking him out of the egg, it might be ok.
Just leave it be and you will now for sure.

I sort of opened the front hole and squeezed lightly on the other end and out it came very easily.

It's up and walking around. I put it in a small container on moist paper towel. I'm surprised it is already exploring after just a couple of minutes.

Another one had it's nose out yesterday but is back in today also.

Should I have left it in the egg, since it has so much yolk sack, would it have been fine in the egg for longer?

It probably would have been fine in the egg since it still has all that yolk. Just wait and see and make sure the yolk doesnt dry out.

you may have been incubating at too high of a temp that will cause them to develop alot sooner.

It is not uncommon for baby panthers to stick their head out and then pull it back in. They will come out on their own after they have absorbed their yoke sac.. You just need to be patient

ALSO it is not uncommon for some babys to came all the way out and then lay motionless curled up for another day or even two.

I thought I was being patient waiting almost 2 days after it went back in, lol
This is baby #4, There are 12 more in this clutch, i will leave them alone.

I don't think my temps are too high, if that were the case I think they would have hatched sooner than 8 months?

Thanks for the replies, I will worry less about them when they want to play peek-a-boo.

It survived the night and is doing fine. Baby #5 hatched also.
