Chameleon Info:

Your Chameleon - Yemen chameleon. I brought it from Morocco. i got it one week ago. Sex unknow. Age also unknown. Probably around one month.
Handling - Once a day. Doesn't mind handling.
Feeding - Feeding him crickets.
Supplements - Tetra Repto Life
Watering - I moist the terrarium 3-5 times a day. I saw it drink only once.
Fecal Description - It looks healthy, green color. At night dark green.
History - When i purchased the little one, he wen't through hard times. I had two flights back to Slovenia, so it stayed in a small box for 2 days, with no water or food. It was active the whole time and didn't show any sighns of weakness. When i arrived home, it drank water and ate 4-5 small crickets. After 1 week it looks healthy (except for the eye), it eats crickets and climbs on branches.

Cage Info:

Cage Type - The cage is made of glass, and has metal parts for ventilation (front and upper side) (see pics) size = 50x60x80 cm
Lighting - I use Repti Glo 5.0 AND Repti Glo 2.0. Both turned on from 9AM and 9PM. The lights shine properly and not through glass as one would think looking at my picture.
Temperature - Temperatures are around 23 degrees Celsius. I am planning on upping them to about 26.
Humidity - Don't know the exact humidity. I moist 4-5 times a day.
Plants - I am using live Ficus Benjamina plant and branches of Prunus domestica subsp. syriaca. Planning on buying a larger ficus + adding a home made construction of branches for climbing.
Placement - Cage is located on my shelf 1,3m from the floor.
Location - Middle Europe, Slovenia

Are the two lights unneccesary? Can i use just repti glo 5.0.
Do i need basking spot? (guy at a store told me it is not neccesary because repti glo 2.0 also contains UVA)
What to do with it's closed eye and should i be worried? The vets in our country aren't too much experienced with reptiles.

Babies rely on lots of water for many reasons...

Mist him or her for 3-5 minutes 3 times a day. That will be a chore with the current set up but this is necessary. Be sure that the cage floor dries out between misting sessions.

Has the chameleon shed recently?

I recommend creating a basking spot 90* F and a keeping the same ambient temps that already have. A normal house bulb will do just fine. You will have to play with the different available watts to see which best suits your set up. I would start with a 40 or 60 watt.

It probably has not caused problems yet but you need to start using plain phos free calcium every feeding and using a multivitamin twice a month.

If the problems exists after a few days of giving the misting schedule stated above. Maybe turn the uvb lights off for a day and only use the house bulb to see if the uvb bulb is defective.

Also is the top of that cage glass or screen.?

Try flushing the eye. Best bet may be in a shower for a half an hour. Just do it...

They do have to be careful showering the baby, the droplets can clog it's nose and it could drown. Also yes, is the top of the cage glass??? UVB rays do not penetrate through glass. Also post a picture of it's back feet and we can tell you male or female and if it is indeed a veiled chameleon.

The top of the cage is not glass, so it is ok.

I will try misting but he/she hates water. He gets dots on his body and shakes his head. What's that about?

Hello, welcome to the forum :) A basking bulb is not needed for such a little one, but when he's older he will need one. Just a normal household bulb will be fine. You don't need the 2.0, just the 5.0 is plenty for uvb.
Is the eye always closed or just sometimes?
If he has spurs on his back feet he is a male - if you are not sure then post some clear pics of his back ankles.
The spots do indicate stress but he will get used to misting. Using a pressure pump mister (instead of a 'one-shot' spray) will make it more comfortable for him.
