* Your Chameleon - The Veiled Chameleon (Chamaeleo calyptratus) , 4-5 months old, in my care for 1 month
*Handling - not handling
*Feeding - Gut loaded crickets, grasshoppers, mealworms
*Supplements - will get name when home
*Watering - Mist three times a day
Hi,
my male chameleon shed earlier this week and towards the end one of his eyes closed. Today is the third day and I have been closely monitoring his eye, it does not appear to be weeping, swollen, disfigured in any way just closed, i can see the eyeball moving around inside. He has still been eating normally. I have increased misting and used slightly warm water this morning, I will be taking him to the vet today if it has not yet opened.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced this, or if they have any idea of what might have caused it, how serious it could be, how to prevent it?
Thankyou.
