Help please just a little ago i accidently kicked my cham in the dark. He was roaming and i did not see him. I FEEL HORRIBLE!! Right now he is puffed up and rocking back n forth and hissing at me. He has not moved at all either from where it happened just hisses everytime i try to get near him. Idk i hope jothing broken or i injured him

Pick him up and inspect him for injuries. The hissing and puffing up is a normal reaction. Wouldn't you be pissed if someone kicked you?

Might not be a good idea to let you chameleon roam like that. Set up a proper free range so accidents like this can be avoided.

Yes... Sometimes usually he just goes in windows. I should of been more careful and looked where i was walking. It was my fault. But i did inspect him hes fine. He was just shooken up from what happen. I appreciate everyones responses. Thanks

Why is he roaming around in the dark? Usually when it's dark they stay still and sleep. Also as others mentioned you should setup a proper free range that he can't get to the floor to roam around. Or maybe turn on a light before you go in his room so you don't kill him.you also said he usually goes in windows. Do you have a proper uvb light and basking light setup for him?

It was around 6am this morning so he was up. And yes, i have everything proper for him in his cage in his own room. He just likes to explore and he was headed to our room which he normally does but did not see him.I live on top apartment complex so i assume he likes the window because it makes him feel high up.

If he's out of the cage a lot how is he getting enough UVB and water and food?

I lock him in his cage everynight and hes in there for weeks with water mister and plenty of food. I open it once a week to let him roam and sit on his tree and explore then he goes back in. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time this morning

Without being rude, I question what his cage looks like? If he's wondering there's a good chance he's unhappy with his current set up. Plus if he's wondering he's missing uvb, humidity, mist, etc.

It might be a good idea to post a picture of his cage and the room he free ranges in.
