So just a few minutes ago I witnessed Donnie (my 7 month old veiled) down in his plant eating something. I thought it may be a leaf off the schefflera or may be a cricket...but no, he was eating his own poo!! WTF?! Has anyone else ever heard of or seen such a thing?

Another member posted something a day or two ago about a chameleon eating a urate. Your cham. will be fine, but like another member responded, if it becomes a habit it could be an issue.

Ok thanks. This was only the first time. I'll keep a close eye and be sure to get poop cleaned up right after he's done.

I have a theory that if small bugs, like certain flies, are in the soil they may be attracted to his poo and he may be going for them, and ending up with a mouthful of crap instead. I have tiny bugs in the soil of my cage that get on my Veiled's poo, but he never goes for em.
