So this is our first clutch of eggs, we have been reading threads for around year and prepared as much as possible. Made sure we can grow pinheads, we now have a silk worm colony going, roaches too.
We felt ready to give it a go with our beautiful pair of Panthers. So anyways...we are now waiting for our first clutch of eggs to arrive. They mated on 8th March.....we are confident everything is going well.
So we have the cage cover over, the bin is a large bucket, part kids sand, part dirt....planted a plant for her and used a spoon to start a few holes. She is showing no interest in eating and hasn't for a few days now.
Today a peep and she was sat at the top of the cage under her lights...so I took the cover off to spray the cage down, start her water up and see if she wanted to eat.
She refused the cricket...she refused the silk worms (she loves those normally) so I took them away and went to close the cage, she practically ran to me and so I out my arm out and she jumped on
Her gravid dark colors changed, still the gravid brown but her pretty pink/orange receptive colors came beaming out where her circle pattern is.
She seemed so happy to be see me and almost like she had missed me. I put her back and really had to make her go back lol. So then while I was picking the cover up to put over her again she went down into the bin. Ive never seen her go into the bin. Just walked around it before.
Strange as she seems to be behaving the opposite to everything we have read. She seems to want to be with us and wants me there at the bin lol.
Since covering her again I haven't been back in the room. Just had to share this with everyone, see what takes we get on it, from other people experiences.....she clearly hasn't read the same information as we have in preparing for this moment lol.
We are so excited, so nervous, scared and concerned all the same time. What a nerve racking experience this waiting game is. Just wish it was over now so we know she is ok...Im not sure we will do it again...Im such a worry pants lol
