Ok so my uncles panther is here

Well I took him out to have a little roam on my net curtain in the bedroom and his grip seems quite loose. He also seems very unsterdy. When I put him back he kind of slid down the log in there rather then climbed down. I took a few pics of him on the net curtain which he seemed like he was swinging round on rather then having a good strong hold.

I am going to recommend again... Respectfully and not talking down to you or your uncle... I doubt your uncle would mind if you took upon yourself to either buy, or go to the hardware store and build a proper enclosure for his cham. The fact that he took in the cham and has not taken it apon himself to do this... may mean it won't get done unless you do it. Why rescue a cham if you are not going to provide the proper cage for him? With the weak grip and other stuff... It really just sounds like there are so many issues at hand...The best way to fix this is to start from step one, being the proper enclosure, and work out from there with feeding, lighting and supplementaion, and proper monitoring of temps and humidity.

What I am saying is first he must make sure the husbandry is air tight... Then address any heath issues that still persist at that point. But to try to address any issues with the cham with holes in the husbandry would be a fultile effort until he knows that he is providing everything they should need to be healthy.

Yeah I know he should of done it sooner. I think he was just being nieve to the fact either that or he like he said he didn't know what enclosure size they need etc. I know he hasn't provided the enclosure yet but I know he will. He's going to order it online when he comes back next saterday. Like you said I will make sure he gets the husbandry and everything else right before we try to fix any health issues as we wil be hitting our heads against a brick wall. Thanks for all the help. In the mean time i'll just let him have a roam now and then so he has some space.

I'm becomming quite worried. I've seen him drink and bit. I've not seen him eat although I think he has because I put a few crix in there. Hes always on the floor or at the bottom. He seems very week he spins round on his wood etc in there. Does this sound like a case of MBD?

its hard to say without the actual owner to fill out the care sheet. if you are puting crix in and then coming back later and there are no crix, i would assume he is eating them unless there is a hole in his cage where they are escaping.

on that lil dinker a 10.0 IS a problem.....

but a 10.0 on a 2x2x4 screen cage is just fine..the screen absorbs more uvb than you would think..

Yeah I realised that. My uncle will be ordering in the enclosure as soon as he is back. I would order one in my self but I haven't got the money atm. I'm on quite a tight budget as it is with my 6lizards lol.

If he has MBD can it be cured? Will he reach his full health potential? Will his life expectancy be lowered?
