had pearex for a couple of weeks now and seriously have become obsessed with him and his health to the point of nerousis. hes drinking fine, eating fine esp his new hibiscus plant i put greens in with him but nooo the plant is much more tasty.he moves around fine and loves to bask ....however i am still worrying about his health all the time. my husband now says i love pearex more then him ;) just love the little fellow he is so fasinating to watch , he enjoys coming out of his enclosure and sitting on my head. i have fallen for him hook line and sinker but i really need to get a grip of the worrying

ok just needed to get that out lol will post pics soon

join the club and it doesn't get any better the longer you own them either!!! Mine has become my "third child"!

My fiance, too, has stated that he has been replaced by a chameleon. When I am on the forum, multiple times a day, he says I have been kidnapped by the Lizard people...The worrying for me has finally gotten under control, but it took over 6 wks of ownership, to not have me constantly fidgeting by the cage. Have to say this forum is what gave me more confidence. The more you learn, the better. I still worry when I leave the house each day for work that something bad will happen. I already have a 4 yr. old daughter to obsess about, but these Chams steal your heart!

The obvious solution is to get your husband hooked. Buy him a nice new juvi panther and he should shut right up! :)

I'm a slave to a few and then more and more people keep getting me hooked to more. They become your children or when you have no kids like me this is the case. I love, pamper and spoil them more then I do myself. I just sit back and enjoy the fact that I am just a proud chameleon mommy!

I think you'll relax a bit once you realize you know him really well, have all his daily needs down to a routine, find little tricks that work for you, and his health continues to be stable. The worry is a learned behavior...and should slack off the longer you have him. A good cham keeper is always an attentive person, but this is an animal that tends to appeal to those who really get into the details. If you are not that type of person I suspect a cham isn't going to be a joy and you'll find yourself offering yours to someone else (not that YOU will do this, but newbies who realize this often end up selling or giving them away). It's all good!
