Not using tail

I have a five month old give or take male panther chameleon.
He really has never used his tail to grab on to branches or really anything. I see him use it once in a great while but otherwise it just sticks straight outwards.
I don't know if this is normal and just wanted to be certain this isn't a sign of a underlying health issue.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks

I'm not sure. Mine uses his quite a bit, when he needs to.
Does he curl it at all? Like when he sleeps?
How about when your handling him? Mine curls his round my finger or hand if he's stood on my hand.

That is kind of strange but if he is able to curl it at night, then there probably is nothing wrong. Does it look normal?

That's the best I have right now.
As you can see his tail is actually curled at the end but it's not curled around anything.. Typically though it remains completely straight when he's climbing around
