Not Pooping

I swear I can't get a break with this guy right now :(

Trogdor hasn't pooped for 3 days. I doubt it could be a prey related impaction because the guy has been eating the same size crickets (mediums around 1/2") since I've had him. He is still eating, and he doesn't look dehydrated and nothing has change in his enclosure except that I took out the real ficus because we are treating him for coccidia and hook worms. He is at the end of a very very long shed.

It's not that unusual for them to not poop for days, especially as they get older. On the other hand, with the medications he is getting, I would recommend you increase his water intake to flush some of that stuff out. You could give him a daily shower for about 20 minutes. That should help loosen things up. And little bits of mashed canned pears in natural juice can act as a laxative.

Also, cutting back on his food can actually help him poop, too. You're feeding him 15+ 1/2 to 3/4 inch crickets every day. That's quite a bit.

Well, I wouldn't freak out right now. My calyptratus used to poop only once a week (you have no idea how long that thing he used to do was!) since he was a baby, so I don't think it's time to be worried ;) You have no idea how stressed I was when a week passed and still no poop. I called the guys who I had him from and really was freaked out and they only laughed and told me not to worry because my baby's digestion was slower. And it really was till the end so I didn't have to clean his enclosure so often :)

This happened to my female and i started to freak out. She hadn't gone in 6 days. She eats a lot of food and i started to get worried. I read online to give them horn worms, phoenix worms that contain more juices. I would recommenced doing that and if that doesn't help then go to Walmart and buy mineral oil. Only one drop will do the job. I tried it and i have never seen such a big poop from a chameleon :)

another thing you can do is have him sit on a water bottle filled with warm water. when my veiled was sick and hadnt pooped for days, the vet tried this technique in the office and after a few minutes he pooped right then and there! but if your fella is a biter like mine was it might be a tad difficult :)
