Not eating?

Hi,we have just got a veiled Chameleon and are not sure if its eating any of the crickets or locusts i put in,but if i put worms in it eats them straight away, should i not put worms in until i see it eating the crickets and locusts?

You should probably make sure that your cham is eating mainly crickets or horn worms, or super worms. Feeding them a steady diet of meal worms are not essential to heir diets, but it's a nice treat. I suggest that you also cup feed it for a while, until you know that it's eating. I put all my cham's food in a cup for a few days, and she loved it. It's a good way for you to see if it's eating. :) Hope I helped!

Chameleons usually don't eat on their first few days. Give it time, and your chameleon should be eating like a monster. I recommend hornworms, silkworms, super or king worms, crickets, roaches (any would work fine, preferably dubia), and BB flies. We don't have locusts for sale in US but it's great to use.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your new veiled. I keep veileds along with several other species and veileds are awesome. They show so much personality. Sometimes they can be a little shy at first about eating. What kind of worms are you feeding him? Any pictures of his set up? You could feed him crickets in the mornings and worms in the afternoon. Young veileds can really put away some food and he should too when he's all settled in. I have a blog for new keepers that I'm attaching below. This is the info that I passed out to new keepers that got one of my baby veileds. I hope it will help you to keep your little one healthy and happy.

My ambilobe chameleon used to eat like a champ, but now that I moved he hasn't been eating nothing... I also just got a female cham n she is not eating either... What can it be? Can it be from stress from moving?

Stress from moving can definitely cause a chameleon to not eat for a bit. Just make sure he's getting misted and has some sort of moving water to stay hydrated on.
