Nosy Faly Bloodline Tracking

I know there are a handful of people/breeders working with Nosy Faly's.

Chris Anderson was working on the admin team for the Chameleon Bloodline Tracking Database http://www.chameleondatabase.com/, but I see that the site is currently down.

Has anyone attempted to track current Nosy Faly Bloodlines in the US?

With the limited amount of Nosy Faly's in North America, and "if" no new blood comes in, it will be increasingly difficult to continue to have genetic diversity through multiple generations.

I am new to Chameleon husbandry, but not genetics. I was amazed to find that there is no registry or genetic mapping projects in progress with these amazing phenotypes!
Even from a breeders standpoint, every distinct color pattern or even exceptional specimens should have a pedigree to go with their $300-600 animals. Even if the genetic mapping or bloodline tracing is too pricey then just recording breeding projects with a Certification Body would be a great guarantee for customers and perhaps a platform for color pattern competitions or any other registry oriented events. Similar to UKC for dogs.

Not enough participation from breeders or private keepers. Not enough people want to share this info to make it work.

There are some facts which make it very difficult to "guarantee" a successfull tracking system:

- First of all everybody who works with exporteurs from Africa, in this case Madagascar, knows how those people "care" for their animals. They keep them together in big numbers and I can't really imagine that they are interested in seperating females from different locals, especially when nobody is able to tell you from which locality they came from
- Secondly, many people in the hobby don't give a sh#t on keeping bloodlines clean, they didn't even try it. Some of them are honest enough to offer then mixed lines, others are mainly interested in the fast $ and sell the animals for what they are asked for
- When a responsible hobbyiest gets such animals now, he can just hope the best and believe in the breeders honesty. But I knew several cases where the results from "pure bloodline" matings look very strange, or let's say to colorfull for just one special locality.

I would only believe in the "pureness" of my animals if I'd get the chance to catch them personally in Maddy and ship them back to Europe right afterwards
