Lowest overnight temp my house never goes below 65
Humidity - His humidity is kind of all over the place goes from 80% immediately after mistings to 20% in between. I measure with a temperature/humidity meter
Plants - 3 Pothos, ficus, umbrella plant, hibiscus
Placement - about 4 ft off the floor near a window. He's in a room designated for him with barely any traffic.
Location - New York
Current Problem - He stays very very dark, sometimes on the verge of black. I just can't understand why. Ive owned chameleons before and have never had this problem. He eats quite a lot and everyday; like I said above I never really witness him drink but he always has very nice white urates. A little bit about him, he has been in my care for a little over 3 months. He is a very shy chameleon he gets scared and runs away when I go in his cage at all, but that is when I see the best colors out of him. When his mister goes on or when I go in the cage he usually will run away but at that time he will turn the most vibrant shades of blue I ever see him. Also, he is a dirt eater. Ive seen him eat dirt on more than one occasion. As you can see in the picture, I recently put a plant light on the side of his cage to try and lighten up the lower portions of his cage being that without it, it is very dark down there. I wanted to see if that might be the problem. I feel like Ive tried everything and in a color sense he just doesn't seem happy. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Ill post the best pics I can get but like I said when I go in his cage he usually runs away and seems to get happy lol. I can't figure this little guy out. Ive honestly come to the conclusion he just doesn't like being in a cage. Any suggestions would be great guys. Thanks.

this is the best picture I can get of him, you can get a sense of his coloration but this is actually decent coloring for him, he is usually a lot darker
