Hey guys so I posted on here before about a problem with my 8 month old nosy be.. He was taken to the vet for a respitory infection and a closed left eye. They prescribed him with antibiotics and medicated eye drops.. It has since been about 3 weeks and his infection appears to be completly cured! He has lost some weight do to medication but he has started eating again like a champ. My concern is still his eye. His eye appears to still be under inflated and cloudy when he opens it.. He will open it several times through the day but it is closed the majority of the time.. I still have eye drops but they seem to stress him more then help... Any suggestions? I can't afford to take him to the vet again at the moment.. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

If he was mine I would be using eye drops prescribed. Can you apply a little drop on a qtip?

Yeah I have been but he is not used to being handled often and he seems to get really stressed out.. I can try a q tip though..

Something to think about. Qtips have freys of cotton that could accidentally be rubbed into the eyes.

If your kid was mine.
1. Id give him extra long showers each day. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/ataraxia/594-shower-chamber-treatment.html
2. Make sure your humidity is good. If it isnt put a ultrasonic cool mist humidifier near the cage or on half the cage.
3. If you feel you need to hydrate the eyes. I would use normal plain saline solution and drop it into the eye. If you feel there is a infection a vet will be needed to see what type of infection he does have and prescribe something accordingly. If you are opting to not take him to a vet, terramycin is a shot worth taking.
4. Administer one drop a day for just a few days of preformed Vit A (Ex: fish oil capsules you can buy at any health section of most stores).
