Nose Plugged.

Hi, my chameleon has a little white plug in one of his nostrils.

Could it be from over supplementing? I dont think so, I haven't been supplementing too much, in my opinion at least.

Thanks

It is absolutely from over-supplementing and very common in very young chameleons.
Try supplementing only a few of the feeders instead of all of them and give him a break from any powder once in awhile.

Right now I am supplementing as follows:

Supplement Schedule

Week One
Monday:Calcium without D3
Tuesday:Calcium without D3
Wednesday:Calcium without D3
Thursday:Calcium without D3
Friday:Calcium without D3
Saturday: None
Sunday: Calcium with D3

Week Two
Monday: Calcium without D3
Tuesday:Calcium without D3
Wednesday: Calcium without D3
Thursday:Calcium without D3
Friday:Calcium without D3
Sat: None
Sun: Herp-a-Vite

Week Three
Mon:Calcium without D3
Tuesday:Calcium without D3
Wednesday:Calcium without D3
Thursday:Calcium without D3
Friday:Calcium without D3
Saturday:None
Sunday:Calcium With D3

Week Four
Monday: Calcium without D3
Tuesday:Calcium without D3
Wednesday: Calcium without D3
Thursday:Calcium without D3
Friday:Calcium without D3
Sat: None
Sun: None

So should I cut back to about 2 days a week with the Calcium without D3?

I thought this was a good schedule. Do I need to try to remove the plug or what?

Trial and error!! There are plenty of ways to get less supplement to your cham. I would just dust lighter, as in don't totally plaster the insect with powder.

When you dust your crickets are you leaving them covered and caked on with powder? if you can blow on the cricket and powder comes off, your dusting too heavily.

Your sched looks fine to me though.

Ok. I will dust much lighter.

So there is no need to remove the plug? Will it just fall off?

You can brush it off if you want.

Dusting lighter is what I was suggesting.
The way I do it is by only dusting a few of the feeders, not all of them.
ie: if you feed 8 crickets, dust 3 of them.

Ok. And should I be feeding my 2 month old male veiled about 10 crix a day? And if I don't brush them off will they just fall off?
