Northwest Captive Breeders Expo

Ok, who's gonna be there?

And what do you look like?

I'm bald and I'll be walking around with my lovely wife who's a brunette that's way outta my league. Stop me and say "hey!"

My husband and I (Sandy & Elliot) will be there but not until btw 2 and 3 in the afternoon on saturday. We plan to head for Pam's Chams, and spend sometime discussing husbandry and breeding issues with her. If I can find a photo of us that doesn't look too awful (we're middle aged, mind you) I will post it. :D

Puyallup Expo........

I had posted a thread in the lizard lounge:

https://www.chameleonforums.com/pacific-northwest-expo-6521/

I wonder why lizard lounge posts don't show up on the main page. You only see them if you go directly to the forum or select "new" posts.

Anyway, sounds like Royden and Gesang will be there in the afternoon. I'm going to be there at 10:00 or shortly after opening. Not sure how late I can stay yet. I'm hoping to be there until 3:00 or so. I do have to leave around that time. My husband and I have a family event to go to and I can't get out of it. I will be the one looking like a kid in a candy store. Short brown/ highlighted blonde hair wearing a black mid-length leather coat with a black fur collar (I'm going to assume our crappy weather is here to stay for awhile). I will have spent some time with Pam so she can point me out. Hope to see you all there :)

Cool! Hope to see you both there! (I will also be in a black leather jacket)

I'll probably be there between 1:00 and 3:00. But that's a guess.

It was great meeting you :)

Hello again to Royden and Gesang (Sandy and Elliot)! I had a great time meeting you at the show. Wished I could have gone out to dinner with you after the show. The best part of the show was definitely hanging out with you and Pam (Pam's Chams). Hope you (Sandy and Elliot) got you new Sambava pair safely situated at home. I had to rush home and practically throw my new ones into their cages before I had to rush off again with my husband to a family get together. We will all have to get together before the next show. I hope the other nice fellow we met there will join this group too.
Bye :)

Yes, it's wonderful to put faces with names, and get to know the real person behind the avatar. None of us got to go out to dinner, though. Maybe next time. The Sambavas are doing great. Eating, drinking, basking, and checking out their new digs. Pam was very helpful, and I really appreciate her selling me that beautiful pair of Sambavas. I learned a lot more from both of you during our converstations. I think it would be fun to get together.

This was the first such show we've attended, and there were so many things I had intended to investigate there, that it was a little overwhelming. And that was a small show, no doubt, compared to most. My camera enjoyed the day, tucked safely in the glove compartment, completely forgotten.

Sales of chameleons seemed to be good. Just during the time we were there quite a few things sold, at Pam's and the 2 other booths that had chams. One guy apparently showed up there with a few Johnstons that sold early.

The other guy that was there at Pam's booth with us was a fellow, from Seattle, named Ed. Very nice guy who recently lost his chameleon, Bernie (I think). Ed's thinking of getting another cham, and Elliot encouraged him to check out this forum to see the kind of great support that would be available to him.

Greetings, Royden! That was really neat getting to meet you and Ruth at Pam's booth. We had a good time. The time flew by so fast. Pam's chameleons are GORGEOUS! Elliot wants to do Ambilobes, but just not yet. This is an expensive habit, and we've really laid out the bucks lately. Maybe next year. Oh, and we did end up getting Dubias before going home. Lord, help me. And I mean that. I now call our feeder room "My Little House of Horrors".

We have decided to refer to them as beetles, and I see that others on the forum call them Hawaiian Papaya Beetles.

We have a couple staying with us next week during a church conference, and I asked Elliot to PLEASE not tell them about the (spooky organ intro here) :eek:feeder room:eek:

That was a ton of fun! My first reptile expo!

It was great to meet you all, I wish you all lived a little closer so I could see your setups and all your animals. What a blast.

Made me want to trade in my veiled for a panther though. :( I've never seen such amazing colors.

Here's my blog post from the day along with pictures.

The Sambavas are 7-8 months old. The male is a son of Loki, from BLueBeastReptile. The female is from a different breeder, but her brothers look like Loki.

As for pricing, you could check pamschams.com.

Okay, roll call !!! Who is coming out this weekend? Haleybob are you going to be able to make it? There is rumor of s-s-s-snow in the pass :( this weekend.

I have ZERO money to spend as I spent it all last week, buying horses back from the kill buyer (I am such a sucker),,but then there is the credit card

I SO wanted to make this show and meet some of the west state people! Doesn't look like it's going to be an option. I hear there is crappy weather planned for the pass, and Sean is still not back to work yet. :( We are on a REALLY tight budget right now until he's back at work. It's been getting down to about 10 degrees at night here, so hopefully it's warmer over there for you guys! I sure hope someone is able to take pictures and share.

I will have a booth there!! As usual, I win the prize for coming the furthest.....(although it's the darndest thing....I never seem to get any prize....)

Amy, you can count on some free stuff from me for all of your help! Don't worry about the cold weather. Chicago has been in freezing temps for the past few days (and I believe I did see some flurries flying around the other night...) so I am ready for the cold (well, not really, but you know what I mean...).

I look forward to seeing all of you forum members there and meeting a lot of you for the first time! Please stop by my booth and say Hi! :D

Yippee :)

So funny to see this thread resurrected from a year ago! Pam Reid got three booths together for the show. She is hosting Amazing Blue, Nick Barta and myself at these booths. I'm going to have about 50 sexed Crested Geckos and some assorted Chams for sale. Nick will have BUGS....LOTS of BUGS. Amazing Blue will, of course, have amazing things. Can't wait to see what they have to offer :) Pam and I will also be selling A LOT of gently used reptile equipment. Cages (screen and glass) and lots of cage furniture suitable for bearded dragons, geckos an other reptiles. I cleaned my closets out yesterday. I am also thinking of bringing my Melleri, Layla, to the show for a display. She is so much more beautiful than she was back when I made the YouTube video of her. She can keep an eye on Nick's dubia roaches. It should be a lot of fun. This show gets better every year. After scanning the vendor list I can see that is going to be true this year too. See ya :)

Hey - I was just wondering if there are any potential dinner plans floating around amongst any of you that are going. Please let me know if there are and where/when.

Oh, and I have been told by Beanfarm that my "prize" is a beverage of my choice. YES! FINALLY I AM BEING REWARDED FOR MY TRAVELS!! :D

HEY!!! How about OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE? :D

{{{running and hiding behind a steel door }}}}

I can hardly wait for your visit Julie, we can stay up and have hot chocolate and sing Kombuyya all night! :p

I asked Catherine, Sandy and Pam to join us, but they suddenly had plans that night and the next one too.

PS: Catherine, this is Seattle, where EVERY thing is recycled. ;p

Dinner....

I think Pam and the Amazing Blue people (so sorry I don't have their names) are going out to dinner on Saturday. My husband chose the ONE weekend in 2009 that I told him NOT TO INVITE ANY PEOPLE OVER to actually invite people from another state to spend the weekend. They already had their plane reservations before I found out about it. I have to come home Saturday after the show to play hostess. Boo Hoo.

Well, nice of them to invite the rest of us.... (just kidding). Don't worry about it. Next time, perhaps.

Not a big fan of Outback, but if that's all you've got, then Outback it is. :)
