hi everyone
i put a glove on today to get my big boy REX out and he went BERSERK at the glove:eek: he litteraly did no stop headbutting it i finally stopped cause he was stressin out to much:(
and ones chams ever do this?
thanks

yeah my male vieled hates gloves i use them to get in back from the free range to the cage because after hes out he doesnt want to go back in  i put the glove on and he will literally chase my hand back into his cage

Although my male Veiled doesn't seem to head but, occasionally if my husband tries to hold him he will flare up and hiss, and kind of bumps the side of his head against my husbands hand, never bites, just bluffs. And its strange because he never does that with me.....i suppose that goes along with the saying "dont bite the hand that feeds". I think some chameleons possess the dominant gene, and because in the wild they live a life of solitude, its just in there nature to become aggressive to anything invading there space. I once saw a special on discovery whereas they showed the reactions of a chameleon seeing himself in the mirror, like a rival on his branch, he charged and bit and hissed and HEAD BUTT, trying to ward off the reflection rival, in relation they also showed the habits of a chameleon like ours in captivity, in his cage he was seriously aggressive towards any intruder, but when they let him free range he was completely approachable, they suggested it was simply the change of him being in his territory, to being in a neutral zone. Perhaps your glove is strange to him, and to add he is just very touchy about his space. A question for you would be: Does his actions stay the same if he is removed from his home, or do you find that he submits (is passive) while out of his enclosure.

It's weird, since other chameleons also can hate certain colors, Karma is fine with the color red on anything else, it's just the red toothbrush he hates, not other toothbrushes, just the red toothbrush. Maybe it reminds him of something? I have no idea.

mine hates certain colored tshirts i tried getting him out with a black one and he did the same thing headbutting non-stop:confused:

then i get out the normal white one i used and he still tried to bite but didnt go that berserk:eek:

when i had my past female she would always be calm getting out with a blue glove and then i put any other colored thing on and she would go crazy it was halarious:p
