Normal fecal?

Ok all you fecal experts.....

I have a new pair of Furcifer Lateralis, just purchased last Sunday.

They are approximately 1 year old. The female just laid this fecal. (See photo)

It doesn't look normal to me, but it could be just the stress of new surroundings, people, etc...

They are my first experience with Carpets, so maybe just different from a Panthers?

Any thoughts?

First off, I think this animal is severely dehydrated, which might be why she has hard, small stool (and orange urates).

I would have a fecal done, but the question would be when.

Is this a newly imported wild caught? Is the animal in good condition and eating well?

If the animal looks healthy, good weight and appetite, I would wait a few weeks before doing a fecal. Let her immune system get over the stress of the new home and see if she can take care of whatever is going on on her own. If she has parasites, the count will be abnormally high when she is stressed form all the recent changes.

If she is not doing well, I would have a fecal done now and probably a vet visit. I wouldn't medicate until the animal is well hydrated which can take days. If you take her to the vet and the vet thinks she is dehydrated, you might want to discuss subcutaneous fluids.
