Hello everyone my name is Mike and I'm in the process of buying my first chameleon. I was doing some research and stumbled upon this site. I'm thinking about buying a veiled or a jackson. But I really need some input on what kind of cage to buy, plants etc... Any information and insight would help out a lot. Thanks

Don't get a Jackson's for your first Chameleon. Get the Veiled, they are easier to care for, and are a lot more hardy. Make sure you read a lot! Raising Kitty blog is good. Here is a good Veiled Care sheet also.

Thanks for the links. For cages do I need to start off with a smaller cage, and then get a bigger one when my chameleon grows? Or will a baby veiled be fine in a large cage?

As a baby it will need a smaller cage then go to a larger one. For a young veiled which is what I would start with, I would get a 18 x 18 x36. We do have some really excellent people who are very knowledgeable and will offer more advice. Good luck and welcome.
