If you are still interested in a free-range set-up, you can pull it off, but it will take more than one tree and one low basking light.

There isn't a lot of info out there on free-ranging, but it can be done... Just know that it comes with more hazards/risks than a cage environment. I would read up on as much as I could find before attempting to free-range.
