I just came into my cham room and found Ninja had pearls/slugs. Those yellow sacks things. I was sort of expecting it becuase she was REALLY fat.

She has never been mated and never seen a male. Can they just have them without being mated or ever seening a male???

I gave her 6 crickets all with calcium. Is there any thing else i should do???

She's way more active now, she's climbing all over the place. :)

Thanks!!

Oh and she's a Jackson Xanth.
Sorry if i put this in the wrong section, feel free to move it. :)

I didn't know if this would help but here:

• Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon? Never
• Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders? Crickets and sometimes dubia roaches, I skip wesndays and Sundays, I give them peppers, greens, cucumbers, ect.
• Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule? I use Repashy Calcium Plus, with every other feeding.
• Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking? I use a mistking five times a day for 3 or 5 minutes a day. I usually don’t , but her poop it white.
• Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites? The poop is brown, and the urates is white with a tiny tiny bit of orange. She has never been tested.
• History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you. I’ve had her since birth, my decseaded female gave birth to her.

• Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind? I giant pothos and 2 fake plants.
• Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor? In my room, no vents or anything like that, no traffic at all, the top of the cage is about 5 ½ feer of the ground.
• Location - Where are you geographically located? In a rule area, in washington

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about. My cham just had pearls/slugs ( the yellow sacks) and I don’t know why or how.

You bet. It doesn’t happen as often with the live bearing species partly, I believe, because of improper husbandry and/or improper seasonal cycling of the montane species.

Now that she has space in her abdomen she will probably be a little hungry or hungrier than usual so make sure she gets plenty of healthy gutloaded insects but don’t overdo it as Jax girls like their food and easily become overweight.

They get active just before and during the birthing process so what you are seeing is normal. Is she becomes sluggish, pale in colour, sunken eyes etc. then you should see a veterinarian.

Good luck!
