nighttime heating

Is it necessary to use a night time heat source in an apartment that never drops below 60°. I read that veiled chameleons can withstand temps as low as 50° at night ???

Yes, that's true so you don't need a light or heat emitter. It's actually good for chameleons to cool off at night and then warm up during the day, it's a very healthy thing for their metabolism, so unless it's getting a lot colder you're not going to need a heat source.
