Just quite a random one,
Have you ever crept up on your chameleon in the middle of the night (because you can not sleep) opened your blinds/curtains and let the moonlight/streetlight in and looked at your chameleon...
...well i did the other night and saw my Veiled chameleon sleeping but on his body he had new bright pinks and other colours that i had never seen before in him!?!?!?!?
Just wanted to know have any of you had the same experiences?:D

Their sleepytime colors are often different from their daylight ones - mine is bright yellow and red when he sleeps (see my avatar), but shows no real yellows when he's awake and alert (greens instead); when he was young, he was pinkish at night. This very slightly macabre thread <https://www.chameleonforums.com/question-about-dead-chameleons-10458/> discusses the relaxation of their chromatophores when sleeping or dead.

was looking at my little guy whilst asleep last night (almost 3 months) You can see his bars showing, not alot of color but the pattern is there. Cant wait to see him get his colors. :)

Cham color

Yes mine def look different at night then during the day, it seem like that the "night" colors are alot like the fired up colors. My nosy faly had some wicked night colors....my sambavas as well. Some times when it get cold at night they colors are really bright....

Yeah, night colors really do resemble fired up colors, when my Tamatave is awake he is orange with green and a little red. But when he sleeps HES ON FIRE! hes completely red. I think its amazing, and my profile picture is my veild sleeping
