For my mega-super free range breeding set up..it went sothing like this:
chameleons both 300.00
30 year old ficus (found on similar at a nursary) 179.99
vines 40.00
temp\humidity gauges 30.00
lamp fixture 15.00
uvb, uva bulb 100w 40.00
timers, powerstrips 30.00
mistking 148.00 (all together for what i got)
cricket breeding bins all set up 80.00
digging bucket 20.00
sand for digging 5.00
incubator 139.99
incubation medium 19.99
incubation trays 5.00
tile for the floor to pick up extra moisture 60.00
ends up to 1107.97
not including around 60-80 a month on cricket food(dry-gutload, and salad mixes of greens and all the good stuff), and purified water(.35 cents a gallon, i go fill up like 15 a month)...
take into consideration babies...when you have 30 lil mouths too feed (especially baby chameleons, they are piggies!!) it goes up..gotta have micro crickets(pinheads, witch i make, but they arent allways hatching) , and fruit fly cultures..
as for food prices, i breed my own feeders, so i save tons there (sick of going to pet shops that would give me 12 crickets and charge me 1.09...thats rediculous!!!)
as for a standard set up caged, for one cham..ied say you are looking at around 500-700 dollars..
edit: also forgot that i spent abount 50.00 on supplements.....
