Can i put a baby Veiled directly into a 4x2x2 viv. I haven't got one yet and am trying to make sure when i get one i dont stress it too much.

There are arguments for both sides (all of which made by experienced "senior members") of wether or not large cages are suitable for babies. This question has been brought up several times, use the search tab. You will see several threads with answers to this question.

I'd say for a first time owner, a male would be a better choice.
You won't have to worry about the egg laying issues that come with a female.
A male would be fine in an 18x18x36" screen cage, and then move him to a 2'x2'x4' cage when he's about 6-8 months.
Screen cages are not expensive. An 18x18x36" will run you about $60 and after you up your cage to the 2'x2'x4' the smaller cage can be sold easly here on the forums or be used as an outdoor sun cage.

Jay I hate it that you can never just take a stand and make up your mind.
But yes I do agree a small cage is much better for making a little one feel secure, IMHO.
