Hello, I posted my set-up a couple weeks ago, I now have my new babay sambava and he is beautiful, I will post pics soon, How long does it take for them to settle into a new cage and start eating.

A few days at the most I would think. They adjust pretty quick at that age. Hunger will get the better of him before long! ;) Amy ate as soon as I got her home and put crix in the cup, then she was sat on the vine above in the same spot the next morning waiting for more!

Greetings, Jeff. It can take a couple of days before they start eating. But often they will be eating in secret at first, after all humans have left the area. It can take a week or so for them to actually settle down in their cage. Looking forward to the photos!

Ah, I see some others have beat me to it.

Here he is, out in the sun. More pics later, He will be amazing when older i am sure. He is a Sambava from "torch" at NW Chamelons. He is a bit fiesty but very healthy. Hatched dec 25th 2008

Hey, Jeff. You and I got our babies around the same time. Mine turns black and green in the sun too! Very cool. Still cant get enough of these guys.

Love the name!

I was concerned about Urlich not eating too. I put him in a room where no one else is, and he's up to about 10 medium crickets a day. either that, or the room is infested with crickets and have to let the cats in there to clean them out...

PS your baby is handsome. cant wait to see his sambava colors. he should be a real beauty coming from torch.
