hi everyone I'm a long time browser and first time poster on this forum :) I'm a first time Cham owner and iv had my wee man 8 days now.

Chameleon Info
Your Chameleon - 2 month old veiled Cham, I have had him 8 days now.
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon? Once since iv had him. I don't want to stress him out while he's still settling.
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders? He gets a mix of locusts, wax worms, Phoenix worms, meal worms, small super worms and iv tried him with roaches but he won't touch them. Gut loading with red peppers, leafy greens and butternut squash. He gets his live food in the morning.
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule? He has had every meal Calci dusted.
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking? I must 3 times a day for about 3 mins a time. I also have a dropper plant that runs all day and I clean the water in the tray 3 times a day when I mist. Iv seen him drinking from his plant.
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites? Good droppings, brown part and white part look normal. I don't think he's been tested as far as I know.
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you. When I bought him the pet shop had only had him a day and they informed me they hadn't seen him use his tongue properly and he was just walking up to the bugs and eating them but they thought he would settle and start to use it. They have been really good and have offered me an exchange.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions? Exo terra 45x45x60 and will be upgrading to a screen cage when he's bigger.
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule? He has a pro rep bulbs for his basking light (basking spot is at 25/26 degrees Celsius and an Arcadia 100w uv tube.
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps? Basking spot is between 25 and 26 Celsius and the bottem is about 18 Celsius. I have a digital thermometer. Overnight it can be anywhere from 16/18 Celsius.
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity? Humidity is about 70 and spikes to 90 when I mist.
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind? Plastic
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor? Cage is near the window in my living room.
Location - Where are you geographically located? Uk. Scotland.

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.
When I bought grumpy the shop told me he wasn't using his tongue to catch food but was eating, they thought he would start once settled, he's still not using his tongue to catch food and isn't really eating his locusts, he will eat one or two a day but is mainly eating his worms out of his dish. The shop have been fantastic and have offered to take him back and get me a replacement but I'm torn as I don't want to just send him back if he will be ok. I'm really needing advice on what to do, as a first time owner I don't have the experience to deal with him if he's going to get poorly, I just want what will be best for him.

Settling in is not going to change the use of a chameleon's tongue. They are wrong about that one. Tongue issues can be from an injury or some type of nutritional imbalance like calcium or even an infection.
