Hello everyone, I'm new here. I spent hours last night reading previous posts, learning more and enjoying the gallery. Knowledgeable, friendly people who obviously love their chams-I am impressed.
After doing weeks of research on-line and getting the proper set up I bought my first panther chameleon. He is an Ambanja and about 3 months old. He immediately drank droplets of water and ate several crickets not long after I got him home. I was so pleased. What a big eater!
He readily crawls on a stick and doesn't mind climbing all over me. I heard that panthers bite and not to handle them at all, but this guy appears to be very mellow. If I'd known how rewarding it is to own a panther, I'd have gotten one ages ago.
I am very fortunate that the vet clinic less than a 3 miles away has a veterinarian who specializes in reptiles. She owns a panther herself and has been very helpful to me.
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and my guy. I don't have a name for him yet. So far that's been the hardest thing about owning him-finding the right name.
Pictures to come, of course. See you around here.
