New Veiled

I work with one of my friends who has nine chameleons. One of her veiled females had eggs and she said I could have one.:D For the past few weeks I've been helping her with all of her lizards learning what it takes to be a chameleon owner. Her Veiled chameleon Leaf is who layed the eggs. This is Laurie's first time hatching chameleon eggs. All of them appear to be fertile and healthy. We still don't know what we're going to do with them all:confused:

Welcome to the site and congrats on your first cham! What plans do you have for it as far as cage, lighting and etc? You guys could also sell the babies once they are 3 months old.

Here is what I suggest.

1.) Cage - Screen cage NOT Glass (Under 3 months glass OK after 3 months no glass and must all have their own cages)
2.) Lighting - Regular house bulb for basking and a ReptiSun 5.0 Fluorescent UVB lamp
3.) Water - a dripper system or a auto mist system like mistking
4.) Plants - Pick up a live Schefflera or Ficus benjamina
5.) Accessories - Vines, Branches and etc for the little one to climb on.
6.) Food - Flies, Pinhead crickets

Hi guys, I will help with the set up of the cage for Destiny's cage. Probably one of my extra screen cages. She won't be starting with the little one until it is big enough for a screen cage. She really love reptile's, has a couple lepord gegkos and a bearded dragon. She is great at learning proper care. I am training her to be by sitter for the reptiles when I leave town. She is a lot more detailed and aware of any changes in any animals than my husband is!!! Girl is going to be good with chams.:)
