Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - 4 month old male veiled chameleon. Got him yesterday
Handling - 2-3 times a week for outdoor fun in the sun - he was out today already.
Feeding - I don't have a schedule down yet, as I want to observe his eating habits before setting him into a schedule, but he ate a few crickets yesterday. They were gutloaded with a spinach/squash mixed with calcium and then dusted with calcium
Supplements - Calcium 6 days a week, calcium w d3 once a week, multi once a month.
Watering - Mister - once every hour for 10 seconds. Hand misting as needed
Fecal Description - Haven't noticed any yet, but when I got him, I checked in the packaging and his urate with slightly yellowy-orange, which has me concerned
History - Nope

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Screen 18x18x24 (soon to be moved into his adult cage once he reaches 6 months, which is 30x24x48, custom made, full screen)
Lighting - Lights switch on at 930am, off at 930pm, using a regular bulb for basking. He is still getting sun time, so I have his uvb switched on for two hours on, four hours off until 930pm
Temperature - high: 82, low: 70
Humidity - right now, it's a bit low at 61%, but it's been ranging between 61% and 82%. I use one of those old clip on humidity gauges and try to keep humidity up in my room anyway using a humidifier, as it's easier on my lungs.
Plants - all fake
Placement - In my bedroom, next to my window
Location - upstate NY

Current Problem - When I got him yesterday, the urate in his packaging was slightly yellow/orange. I've been observing him closely to make sure he drinks, but I haven't seen him take one sip, nor eat any more crickets. I don't want to chalk it up to stress and find out that it's actually something else. Yesterday, his mister nozzle was clogged for a few hours and I didn't notice it and was hand misting like crazy. I fixed it and it seems to be working fine, but I still haven't seen him drink. I have been trying to watch him from afar - he's at the end of my bed, so while I work, I casually observe him. His eyes look slightly sunken to me, which is another concern. Any advice?

bumping up in hope to get responses. :/ Still no drinking and his most recent poop was rather sizable (which I always equate with constipation) and the urate was a yellowy orange tinged color.

i would get a little dripper, have it drip off of plants and have it on almost the whole entire time his lights are on... i had this problem and when i left a dripper on almost the whole time her lights were on she drinks now... i keep it on almost all day everyday now, it is recomended

KS-

Funny you mention that. I contacted his breeder and he said the same thing. Get a dripper and let the water drip.

I work all day tomorrow and friday, so I think I'll just grab a plastic container, poke a few tiny pin holes and fill it with water so it drips. You think that sounds like a feasible idea until I can run to the store and hunt down a dripper?

Perfect idea.

Be aware that some people never see their chameleons drink. I have had one for 9 months that I've only seen eat once. Yet, he lives and poops and the feeders vanish, so I'm sure I'm just missing it.
