Hey guys

I've had my veiled for just under a week now I believe she is a female and I'm a little worried cause the last couple days she hasn't wanted to come out from the hanging plant. She is also a dark green with dark stripes (I believe this is stress related am i right??) I will try add some pics but I am on my phone so might not work.

Thanks in advance

hello and welcome to the forums and chameleon ownership. A couple of things! You pics are kind of blurry and it is hard to tell from them if she is a female. The way to determine this is to check the back of the back feet and there should be a little protrusion like a spike or pimple(called a tarsal spur) on there if you have a male. A female will not. Also, just wanted to add that it would be a good idea to remove the mulch. It can cause problems if injested intentionally or accidentally. Problems meaning impaction, choking, or death.

since you have not had her very long show a lil patience;
it will take some time for her to acclimate.
also take a minute to go over your care versus the care sheet info on the sight.
good luck and welcome!

oops and to answer your question. That is normal what your chameleon is doing being a new environment. They are scared at first sometimes and need to settle in and get used to everything.
