I just purchased a complete set up with a 8 month old male veiled chameleon. The person I purchased him from had only artificial plants in the cage and I would like to get some real plants to go in there with him. What would be the best plants to get. His cage is a 2' x 2' x 4' screened cage. He also told me that he would only eat crickets, I have read they need other things besides crickets, if so how can I get him to eat something else and what would be best to try first. Thanks for any info you can give me as I am new to this.

Live plants will help with the humidity level if you are having issues with that. The most common plant I see is a pothos. Make sure to check the safe plant list no matter what you decide! As for the diet, Varied diet is great, but if all your cham will eat is crickets, then just make sure to have a quality gutload for them at least 12 hours prior to feeding. Welcome to chaming!;)

because of the tallness of the cage, I would get a nice, tall ficus for the middle of the cage and build around that. you can also use sheffeleras which are good and get pretty tall also. Hibiscus are great, but flower and are kinda hard to keep indoors. You can always get a 6500K grow light for your cage to help the plants. Pothos are good too as suggested, they will vine so suspending them toward the top is ideal.

I thank both of you for the information. I already love the little guy and want to make sure he is happy and has a nice home to live in.
