Hey hey just got my first veiled "Rambo" about three weeks ago. I'm familiar with rudis chameleons, raised a clutch and sold all but one. I now have "Raffi" a juvenile male rudis. But basically just wondering if theres anything special i need to care for veileds and what could i do to make him feel as comfortable as possible and maybe make him a little friendlier. Anything would help and would be appreciated. Oh pics of your guys enclosure would be awesome. THANKS!

Veileds are typically not friendly, however there are a few exceptions. Some will tolerate handling whereas others will hiss and gape when you put yopur hand in to feed them. Try handfeeding so he learns to associate you with food. That really helps - these guys seem to be ruled by their bellies! Amy will willingly walk on to my hand if she sees I have food for her, which she gets once she's sat on me. They are all individuals, and some will tolerate more than others.

My first female veiled, Lily, would rather walk over the food to come out of her cage some days and was very friendly. There is also a male veiled where I got Lily from that is also very friendly and will step onto a hand offered to him!:D Amy is naturally more wary, as she is still very young, but I am working at the handfeeding and am now able to get her out of the cage for cleaning fairly easily, as long as I bribe her with something tasty!:D
