Hello I am new here and was needing a bit of help. I recently purchased a male veiled chameleon and was wondering what all I need to know about these guys. I purchased it because the petstore only had him and a female and said it would be a long time before they get any more back in stock. I have him in a exo terra glass terrarium just for a few days. I understand that they need a screen cage so im going to buy a reptibreeze screen one here very very soon. I purchased a dual uvb/ heat dome fixture that came with the uvb bulb and heat bulb combo. I also purchased a dripper system and some reptivite calcium powder with vitamin d3. How often should I be giving him the d3 dusting on the crickets? Should I buy a a habba mist system? I purchased a zoo med cannabis large plastic plant so how many should I get? I am new to these guys and will do everything I can to provide it a happy life. Again the glass terrarium is very short term please dont jump on me about it. I hate that its even in that thing but I couldn't pass the little guy up. any help on these guys would be very appreciative. Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the forums! You should dust with d3 twice a month and calcium without d3 everyday or evey other day. You may have to order some without d3 depending on what the pets stores around you sell, I have to order mine because none of the pet stores around me sell it. They eat live plants as well to keep hydrated, my girl loves green leaf lettuce, if you feed him any plants just make sure it is safe for him to eat. Sunlight is also very good for them so taking him outside when the weather permits is great. You can buy a mister, I just use a spray bottle and a dripper and spray the cage 3-4 times a day sometimes more for 2-4 minutes, guess that really depends on your time and schedule and what would work best for you. http://flchams.com/chameleon-safe-plant-list/

Ok thank you for the help. I am thinking about buying one soon. I just purchased one of the zoo med led deluxe cages and unfortunately it has a small hole in the side a little below half way down I was thinking about running into thst hole with a mist king but not sure thatll work or not? Thanks
